গবেষণায় একটি নতুন প্রতিবেদনে দেখা গেছে যে ৮৩% আইটি এবং প্রকিউরমেন্ট সংশ্লিষ্ট কমিটি বা জনবলসমূহ বিভিন্ন কার্যসম্পাদন (KPI) ভাগ করে নিলেও, চলমান প্রকল্পগুলির ডিজিটাল রূপান্তর সংক্রান্ত চাহিদার কারণে এই দুটি ফাংশনগুলির একটির সাথে আরেকটির ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে কাজের পরিধি বাড়ছে।
গবেষণায় জানা গেছে আইটি এবং প্রকিউরমেন্ট সংশ্লিষ্ট কমিটি বা কর্মকর্তাদের এখন আগের চেয়েও আরও অধিক হারে নিয়মিত সভা, পরিকল্পনা তৈরী, ভবিষ্যত ঝুঁকি নির্ধারন, সাম্ভাব্য প্রাক্কলন প্রস্তুতি, technology sourcing, ইত্যাদি বিভিন্ন বিষয়ে একসাথে কাজ করতে হচ্ছে।
নিচে এই গবেষণার প্রাপ্ত ফলাফলের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অংশগুলো তুলে ধরা হল:
1. 52% of IT sourcing projects are handled jointly by procurement and IT, while 25% are handled by procurement only and 23% by IT only.
2. 23% of CPOs and CIOs enjoy “close strategic collaboration on an ongoing basis” and 49% collaborate as necessitated by individual sourcing projects
3. 55% of respondents indicate that their goals are either mostly or fully aligned with those of the IT organisation, while another 27% are somewhat aligned
4. Only 4% regard their digital transformation as “completed”, 30% regard it as “underway or nearly finished” and 43% say their transformation is “just beginning”
5. The top four IT spend categories are third-party software support (54%), consulting (43%), computer hardware (39%) and telecom (30%).
6. 36% see cybersecurity as a shared responsibility between IT and procurement.
